Darren Waller, tight end for the New York Giants, has no ill will toward Taylor Swift, but it sounds like he won’t be too pleased if the Chiefs elect to gift her one of the team’s Super Bowl rings.

The New York pro was caught on the go by TMZ, seemingly out in Vegas in the aftermath of the Super Bowl, where he granted the paparazzi a few minutes of his time.

In a new video posted by the publication, the cameraman pointed out Swift’s contributions to the league this year—which include a marked increase in the Chiefs’ female audience, according to team CEO Clark Hunt, and reportedly generated $331.5 million in added brand value for the NFL, according to Apex Marketing Group—and asked Waller if he felt that she deserved a Super Bowl Ring, which doesn’t just go to the winning players and their coaches. According to Fortune, team owners have the power to dole the rings out to whoever they want to, from the players to the cheerleaders to the stadium’s janitors.

But Waller thinks the honor of a ring should belong strictly to anyone “really in the trenches,” meaning the “people in meetings [and] on the field.”

Ultimately, though, he conceded that it was up to the team what to do with their allotment: “Whatever they want to give her, bro.”

Swift’s viral relationship with Travis Kelce and her attendance across 13 games of the season ultimately led to the biggest television viewership since the moon landing, with 123.4 million people tuning in live to the Super Bowl, so we certainly wouldn’t be surprised if the team chooses to gift her with the honor of a championship ring.
